Northern Africa: The Northernmost region of Africa is made up of the nations; Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Sudan, Tunisia and Western Sahara. The region is especially known for wonders such as the Red Sea, the Sahara Dessert, the Nile River and the Atlas Mountains. The main language spoken in this region is Arabic and Islam is the dominant religion.

Eastern Africa: The Eastern region of Africa is where you’ll find the top safari destinations in the continent. Travel to Kenya or Tanzania for the Great Migration between July and September or trek the majestic Kilimanjaro. You’ll also find some of the more luxurious and off the grid adventure destinations such as Madagascar, Seychelles and Mauritius.

Central Africa: The Central region of Africa is made up of some of the less travelled nations such as; Cameroon, Central African Republic, the DRC, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Republic of the Congo, Sao Tome, and Principe, and South Sudan. Some of these countries have little to none tourist infrastructure because of the political instabilities.

Western Africa: Some of the popular nations in the Western region of Africa is Senegal, Gambia, Benin, Cape Verde and Ghana. Ghana is probably the easiest destination to get to and is home to some beautiful beaches.

Southern Africa: The Southern region of Africa is made up of the nations; Angola, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. This region is the most travelled region in Africa and is home to the popular destinations Cape Town, Victoria Falls, Krüger National Park and Chobe National Park.

Yellow Fever and Malaria: In sub-Saharan Africa Yellow Fever is a real threat. If you don’t have the propper vaccination certificate some countries may deport you or you may be refused access to other countries. For Malaria in Africa, the doctor will need to know exactly where you are going in order to give you the proper medication. Different countries will have different strains and even some parts of the country may change. Ensure to bring your travel plan to the doctor and they will map out your rute and give you the medication you need for your trip.

Travel Guides

Africa is a massive continent with a lot of different landscapes, wildlife and things to see and do. Choosing a time to visit depends on what you want to experience while you’re there.

If your goal is to experience the wildlife through a safari trip in Africa the best time to visit is during the dry season. From May to August the rains are infrequent which drives the wildlife to nearby waterholes making it easier to spot elusive creatures such as leopards and lions.

Botswana, Kenya, Mozambique Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe are all incredible safari destinations that offer a chance to spot the Big 5.
