The Colosseum
The Colosseum is beautiful both on the outside and on the inside. Go visit the Colosseum at night and watch it light up while you’re enjoying the company of your significant other under the stars. In the daytime, you can enter the Colosseum. Walking hand in hand under the ancient pillars is such a romantic experience despite the violent and gory history.
Tiber River
There’s something incredibly romantic about walking along a body of river with your better half and the Tiber River is no exception. As you walk through the historical sights of Rome take in the beautiful architecture and beautiful bridges.
Castel St’Angelo
Along the Tiber River, you’ll find Castel Sant’Angelo, the angel castle. The castle was used by the popes as a fortress and castle but today this iconic monument is used as a museum with a beautiful café/restaurant at the top. The restaurant offers a beautiful view over the Vatican and Rome and is a perfect spot to enjoy a nice lunch and gelato before you continue your day of sightseeing.
Palatine Hill
Palatine Hill is situated in the Roman Forum and is such a beautiful place to explore with your better half. The ancient sights are completed with rich gardens and you can imagine yourself walking in the footsteps of Caesar and the senators who used to live in Palatine Hill. There are so many beautiful photo opportunities as well and if you’re a history lover plan plenty of time getting lost in the ruins of the ancient city.
Piazza Navona
Piazza Navona is a lively square in the centre of Rome. Completed with breathtaking fountains makes this a perfect spot for couples who wants to enjoy a more vibrant part of the city. You’ll find both street artists and musicians in the square and plenty of places to grab a gelato around the square. Take a break in the shade or in the midst of the fountain and take in hustle and bustle and the music of Rome.
